Here are the Best Comedy Movies on Hulu

1. Smart booking

In Smart Reserve, Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein play loose-cutter shy teenagers. The two closest friends have spent their entire high school careers as hardworking, respectable students, but on the night of graduation, they are eager to find out what they've been missing out on. As the characters' relationship is confirmed and they face their uncertain futures after high school, the consequence is a chaotic, funny night.

2. Austin Powers: Man of Mystery International

Mike Myers produced a slew of silly characters during his stint on Saturday Night Live, but Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is where he reserved his best work. Austin Powers is a swinging 1960s super spy who was resurrected in the 1990s but is still locked in the past. Myers played Austin Powers and the strangely demanding nemesis Dr. Evil in the James Bond franchise movie parodies and other espionage escapades.

3. The duff

The Duff star Mae Whitman plays the 'designated ugly fat buddy' in her group of friends in Arrested Development, which is a notch beyond the normal throwaway teen comedy. But, unlike his classmates, he treats his films with more respect, delivering a smart critique of high school hierarchy and hypocrisy. And, of course, when the main character meets the hot guy (Robbie Amell), he is treated as a friend and counsellor at first.

4. Beathers

Beathers stars Winona Ryder as a popular high school girl and Christian Slater as the bad boy as they are pursued down a dark path. JD (Slater) wants Veronica (Ryder) to take down the clique she runs with, and JD (Ryder) encourages her to do so in increasingly violent ways. It's a biting spoof of 1980s teen films, packed of quotable lines and outrageously annoying dialogue.

5. The good guys

With satirical 1970s period drama The Good Guys, filmmaker Shane Black takes up the detective genre. The comedy in this private detective narrative of two misfits (played by Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling) who stumble into an extensive plot is amplified by Black, who is known for action blockbusters such as Lethal Weapon From The Last Boy Scout and Iron Man 3. Along with the cynical, world-weary humour, there's a lot of action.

6. Palm Springs

Palm Springs is a fun sci-fi comedy starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti about a pair of wedding guests trapped in a time loop. It is one of Hulu's most successful original films. The characters get to know each other and fall in love in their endeavour to avoid repeating the same frantic day over and over again. It's a sardonic but touching comedy about finding an unexpected partner.

7. The princess Bride

The Princess Bride is a comedy that takes organised fairy stories and tells them as a storey told by a grandpa to his grandson. Westley's (Cary Elwes) and Buttercup's (Robin Wright) romance is charming and innocent, with all the necessary fairy tale elements. Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn, and Andre the Giant all have famous lines in the film, as well as outstanding supporting performances.

8. Very badly

Too Bad was written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Though the raucous teen comedy is based on their own real-life friendship, it offers a higher version of reality. Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera) deal with the end of high school (and the likely end of their friendship) by focusing on the party and connecting with their friend Nery Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), aka McLovin.

9. Young frankenstein

With Young Frankenstein, a pitch-perfect spoof of the classic, Mel Brooks reached the pinnacle of his parody talents. The storey of Frankenstein. Gene Wilder as a scientist who is determined to create life, with Madeline Khan as his love interest and Peter Boyle as his horrific creation. It's a sweet, innocent homage to the Monster Vintage films, with Cloris Leachman and Marty Feldman providing supporting roles.
